Abstract
For patients with locally advanced oesophageal carcinoma undergone irradiation, anaemia associated a statistically significant reduction in survival and locoregional control rates, but also decreased radiation toxicity rates. Therefore, haemoglobin level should be considered as a stratification variable in prospective clinical trials.
