Increased CD105 expression is associated with disease progression in phyllodes tumors - A report of a borderline phyllodes tumor with lung metastases and a study of 54 phyllodes tumors

•Increased expression of CD105 correlated with malignancy in borderline/malignant phyllodes tumors.•CD105 expression in stromal cells highlights tumor heterogeneity which was frequently observed in phyllodes tumors.•Strong CD105 expression in stromal cells might be a useful predictor for metastatic behavior.
