Usefulness of virtual reality in assessment of medical student laparoscopic skill

VR can be used to assess medical student's acquisition of laparoscopic skills. The absence of penalties in the simulator reasonably predicts the absence of penalties in all FLS skills, except IKT. The skills acquired by trainees can be used in residency for further monitoring of progress toward proficiency.
