Abstract
The implementation of an origami kit designed to aid the communication of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and the associated hazard data is described. A preliminary study of the kit efficacy was assessed through running pilot/focus group sessions with university students and employees. The system was found to provide an engaging activity that was capable of capturing the interest of the participants while delivering the core educational message relating to chemical handling and could serve as a complementary aid to conventional COSHH training documentation. The potential for adapting the model system and its capacity for transfer to the workplace is critically discussed.
