Abstract
Periods of uncertainty fosters a rethinking of the principles set out to date. In the new urban models, cities have lost their character as a meeting place and social cohesion. Current urban planning based on modern trends caused the settlement of the population in an unplanned way. That is why urban voids are generated, as the juxtaposition of several unconnected city models. Urban voids appear in our cities as a place of nostalgia and expiration. Therefore, we must abandon the image of urbanism as an instrument that promotes city expansion, to assume new strategies capable of managing porous urban space.
