Abstract
Safety has become an important watchword in the modern chemical industry. The objective has been to provide a safe working environment for the people, both within and outside the industrial premises. Safety measures must be self imposed rather than forced by statutory bodies. All employees have the responsibility to be knowledgeable about safety and to put this knowledge into practice. Safety aspects of chlorine handling have been discussed in the present manuscript for the benefit of persons working in the chlorine chemical industry.
