Abstract
The term “radiation” over the course of the last few decades has invoked a highly negative connotation, sometimes more so than “chemical” or “chemistry.” Chemical Hygiene Officers (CHOs), especially those in academic and industrial bioscience research, routinely encounter radioactive material throughout the workplace. This work is designed to assist the CHO in understanding radiation protection by introducing terminology and principles.
