Abstract
- Mesoporous carbon was successfully coated with TiO2 implying microwaves.
- The microwave synthesis led to a photocatalyst with improved properties.
- The short time MW annealed sample showed highest efficiency for MO degradation.
- A clear trend for the photocatalytic efficiency was observed: 7MW > 450calc > TiO2.
- A synergistic effect of adsorption and degradation for the catalytic activity was emphasized.
