Abstract
In this paper we solve nonlinear matrix equations of the formXδ=Q+âi=1p(AiâFi(X)Ai)ri andXδ=Q+âi=1p(AiâFi(X)Ai)ri+âj=1q(BjâGj(X)Bj)qj, where δâ(ââ,â1]âª[1,â), ri,qjâ[â1,1], QâP(n), the collection of all nÃn Hermitian positive definite matrices and Ai,Bj's are nÃn matrices, also Fi,Gj's are monotone mappings from P(n) into P(n). Examples are given to illustrate that the equations can not be solved by previously known theorems.
