Abstract
⺠Azo dyes were reduced efficiently by chemical and biogenic sulfide. ⺠Biogenic sulfide was more efficient than chemical sulfide. ⺠There was no competition between dyes and sulfate for reducing equivalents. ⺠Aromatic amines barely affected the sulfate-reducing process.
