Abstract
⺠First input ever published on fire and explosion hazards of sodium and potassium methoxides by use of multiple experimental approaches. ⺠Complex water-reactivity revealed being under strong influence of CO2 and oxygen. ⺠Self heating phenomenon further qualified and shown possible close to room temperature. ⺠Dust explosion hazard rating showed moderate related risk.
