Abstract
⺠Sandy soil spiked with PCP was remediated with bimetallic iron under ambient conditions. ⺠After 21 days of treatment a PCP removal efficiency of 90% was achieved with a dosage of 600 mg BioCAT slurry/kg-soil. ⺠Reductive dechlorination is the main pathway of PCP elimination from soil slurries contacted with bimetallic iron. ⺠The evidence for reductive dechlorination: the intermediate products as well as release of chlorides were found.
