Abstract
⺠We assessed the phytoremediation ability of a polyculture constructed wetland (PCW) to treat boron (B) from mine effluent. ⺠B in mine effluent decreased from 187 mg lâ1 to 123 mg lâ1 (32% removal rate) through the PCW. ⺠Estimated methane production, energy yields and electrical energy yields of the PCW increased with biomass production. ⺠Cattails accumulated more than 250 mg kgâ1 B and common reed accumulated 38 mg kgâ1 B at the end of the experiment.
