Abstract
⺠A new tyrosinase immobilized system was developed using natural biosilica. ⺠Proteins can be immobilized on the modified highly porous biosilica surface. ⺠Immobilization improved reusability and resistance to pH and temperature changes. ⺠Up to 91% of phenols were removed by the immobilized tyrosinase in 12 h. ⺠Diatom biosilica is promising alternative to synthetic polymer as support materials.
