Abstract
► A new tyrosinase immobilized system was developed using natural biosilica. ► Proteins can be immobilized on the modified highly porous biosilica surface. ► Immobilization improved reusability and resistance to pH and temperature changes. ► Up to 91% of phenols were removed by the immobilized tyrosinase in 12 h. ► Diatom biosilica is promising alternative to synthetic polymer as support materials.
