Abstract
⺠MWCNTs and activated carbon were tested in ozonation of sulphamethoxazole (SMX). ⺠MWCNTs present higher catalytic performance than activated carbons for SMX ozonation. ⺠The lowest acute toxicity was achieved with simultaneous use of ozone and MWCNTs. ⺠Several oxidation products (organics compounds and inorganics ions) were identified. ⺠The transformation pathway for the complete mineralization of SMX was elucidated.
