Abstract
► Worm-like MMS with high surface area was prepared using double templates. ► High dispersion of nickel with ultrasonic aid improved sulfur adsorption capacity. ► Steric hindrance was rate controlling step of DBT adsorption via kinetic analysis. ► Regenerated sorbent maintains sulfur removal efficiency of 85.9% after 6 cycles.
