Abstract
⺠Plant growth and development was enhanced in the presence of inoculated bacterial strain Bacillus pumilus. ⺠B. pumilus reduced the translocation of chlorpyrifos into shoots and roots of ryegrass. ⺠B. pumilus efficiently degraded chlorpyrifos and its primary metabolite trichloropyridinol. ⺠Plant-bacteria partnership has great potential for the remediation of soil contaminated with chlorpyrifos.
