Abstract
⺠For the first time, degradation of MC-LR by nitrous acid under UV 365 nm was discovered. ⺠The effects of factors on MC-LR degradation were analyzed based on kinetic study. ⺠Mass spectrometry was applied for identification of intermediates and products. ⺠Special intermediates involved in this study were identified. ⺠Degradation mechanisms were proposed according to the results of LC-MS analysis.
