Abstract
⺠Thirty-four isolated Gram-positive bacteria could degrade wide range of aromatic pollutants. ⺠Nine isolates could grow in the presence of extremely high levels of heavy metals. ⺠Twelve isolates accumulated polyphosphate, 3 polyhydroxybutyrate, 4 exopolysaccharides. ⺠The incidence of multiple antibiotic resistance markers among isolates was low.
