Abstract
⺠Malachite green was completely degraded by Potassium persulphate. ⺠Rate of degradation of Malachite green by Potassium persulphate enhanced on addition of micromolar amounts of nickel(II) hexaazamacrocycle (complex1). ⺠Degradation occurs in a wide range of pH (3-9). ⺠Antibacterial activity of Malachite green was removed after the degradation of Malachite green by Potassium persulphate in presence of complex1.
