Abstract
► Manganese oxide-carbon composites were prepared and tested as ozonation catalysts. ► These composites are more efficient than carbon materials. ► Total degradation of oxalic acid was obtained in less than 50 min for all composites. ► No synergic effects were observed between manganese oxide and carbon materials. ► Ozonation in the presence of these catalysts occurs mainly by surface reactions.
