Abstract
with cs = 79.5 ± 0.4 kg S molâ 1 mâ 1. This linear regression is applicable within the temperature and pressure range of 500-800 °C, 6-12 kbar and for NaCl concentrations ranging from 0.01 to 0.4 XNaCl. Following this approach, both the electrical conductivity and the ionic strength of crustal brines can be readily predicted at conditions applicable to the Earth's lower crust and upper mantle.
