Abstract
► Thermal stability and glass transition temperature of the PMMA/TNTs composites were improved excellently. ► The network in PMMA composite and the dehydration of TNTs are suggested to be the two important factors to the thermal properties. ► The organic volatiles are decreased and CO2 is generated during pyrolysis of the composite. ► The dehydration and adsorption effect of TNTs are proposed as the reason of the smoke suppression.
