Abstract
Strongly depolymerized mantle melts, such as kimberlites, melilitites, nephelinites and basanites will exhibit lower CO2 solubility than currently assumed due to their high MgO content which must imply degassing at greater depth, potentially in the sub-lithospheric mantle.
