Abstract
⺠'ZeroWIN' (Towards Zero Waste in Industrial Networks) is a 5 year project running 2009-2014, funded by the EC under the 7th Framework Programme. ⺠We will investigate and demonstrate how the closed loop philosophy can contribute to achieving zero waste via an agreed vision and network approach. ⺠The ZeroWIN vision is: “ZeroWIN envisions industrial networks that have eliminated the wasteful consumption of resources”. ⺠We have provided internationally agreed definitions for “zero waste” and “industrial networks”. ⺠Key strategies for ZeroWIN are: eco-design, industrial symbiosis, supply chain management, new technologies, product stewardship, LCA, and EMS.
