Abstract
⺠The decontamination of chars obtained in the co-pyrolysis of wastes was studied. ⺠A bioassay-directed fractionation procedure was applied to the chars. ⺠Hexane allowed the higher extraction yield and removal of toxic organic pollutants. ⺠The compounds removed are mainly aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons.
