Abstract
⺠New controlled-release pesticide carriers are designed by combining wheat gluten and nanoclays. ⺠The material formulation influences the transfer properties of the delivery system. ⺠The nanocomposite structure depends on the affinity between polymer and fillers. ⺠Tortuosity induced by nanoclays is not significant to slowdown pesticide release. ⺠The release behavior is driven by specific interactions between pesticide and clays.
