Abstract
⺠The pyrolysis of reinforcing fibres obtained from scrap tyres has been studied. ⺠The results have been compared to scrap tyre granules. ⺠A higher temperature is needed for the total decomposition of the fibres. ⺠More compounds with heteroatoms (O, N) were found in the oil from the fibres. ⺠Chars from the fibres exhibit lower BET surface and mesopore volume.
