Abstract
► The pyrolysis of reinforcing fibres obtained from scrap tyres has been studied. ► The results have been compared to scrap tyre granules. ► A higher temperature is needed for the total decomposition of the fibres. ► More compounds with heteroatoms (O, N) were found in the oil from the fibres. ► Chars from the fibres exhibit lower BET surface and mesopore volume.
