Abstract
												⺠An As(III) tolerant bacterium Sporosarcina ginsengisoli CR5 was isolated from As contaminated soil of Urumqi. ⺠The isolate can remediate As(III) polluted soil via microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP). ⺠The first study where MICP has been proved as promising technique to immobilize As(III) in soil. ⺠Sporosarcina ginsengisoli CR5 has been reported for the first time that can remediate As(III) contaminated soil efficiently.
