Abstract
► Graphene oxide was prepared by a simple route from the modified Hummers method. ► The adsorption property of graphene oxide improved the loading efficiency for 4-nitrophenol. ► The reduction current of 4-nitrophenol increased greatly on graphene oxide-based electrode. ► The possible mechanism of 4-nitrophenol reduction was proposed. ► Kinetic and experimental parameters of 4-nitrophenol reduction were investigated.
