Abstract
⺠We found thermochemical chlorination of carbon driven by a sulfide of copper. ⺠X-ray spectroscopy showed solid-phase mechanism of chlorination. ⺠Trace copper sulfide may trigger environmental pollution of organochlorine compounds.
