Abstract
⺠APC residues are a major problematic hazardous waste. ⺠DC plasma technology is a commercially viable technology for transforming APC residues into an inert glass (APC glass). ⺠APC glass can be used to form geopolymers that have particularly good physical properties. ⺠The research shows the binder consists of geopolymer and cementitious phases encapsulating un-reacted APC glass. ⺠The work also highlights the potential for developing reuse applications for DC plasma treated hazardous wastes.
