Abstract
► A regenerable sorbent based on Au/carbon-monolith for the capture of elemental mercury with low Au content has been developed. ► Regeneration of Hg-exhausted sorbents can be carried out at temperatures as low as 220 °C. ► Hg retention is based not only on Au content but also on Au particle size.
