Abstract
ⶠZinc is an essential heavy metal for biological functions; however, it becomes hazardous at certain concentrations. MEUF, a surfactant-based separation process, is promising in removing metal ions. ⶠThe ANN proved to be a useful instrument in the optimization of the MEUF process. ⶠFold over fractional factorial design offers good and fast screening procedure. There are currently no reports on MEUF by FFD. ⶠWe applied the UF spiral-wound membrane which in cross-flow mode. ⶠWe studied the effect of nonionic surfactant, pH and ligand and electrolyte concentration on Zn2+ rejection and permeate for first time.
