Abstract
⺠Intracellular signaling induced by morphine withdrawal in the brain is studied. ⺠Chronic morphine and morphine withdrawal modulate ERK pathway in the rat brain. ⺠Multiple epigenetic modifications are induced by precipitated morphine withdrawal. ⺠Signaling and epigenetic changes are paralleled by early genes expression. ⺠Our results reveal molecular changes underlying opioid withdrawal syndrome.
