Abstract
⺠Mescaline and other phenylalkylamine hallucinogens increase locomotor activity in mice. ⺠The 5-HT2A agonist TCB-2 increases locomotor activity in mice. ⺠DOTB, a weak 5-HT2A partial agonist, did not increase locomotor activity. âºÂ The locomotor hyperactivity induced mescaline and TCB-2 is blocked by selective 5-HT2A antagonists. ⺠Mescaline and TCB-2 do not induce locomotor hyperactivity in 5-HT2A receptor knockout mice.
