Abstract
⺠ITH33/IQM9.21 is multitarget l-glutamic acid derivative designed for neuroprotection. ⺠It protects hippocampal slices subjected to oxygen and glucose deprivation. ⺠It reduces cerebral infarct volume even when administered 1 h post-stroke. ⺠It blocks intracellular calcium transients induced by glutamate and high K+. ⺠It stabilizes Ψm, and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidative actions.
