Abstract
► Neonatal presynaptic LTP (npLTP) manifests as a strong decrease in synaptic facilitation. ► npLTP is induced by physiologically relevant Hebbian protocols at immature synapses. ► The induction involves postsynaptic calcium, NMDA-receptors and PKA. ► PKC is selectively needed for npLTP but not for other forms of synaptic potentiation. ► This mechanism may drive activity-dependent maturation of presynaptic function.
