Abstract
⺠Seizures lead to energy failure and neuronal injury leading to deficits in patients. ⺠The TCA cycle is the primary source of energetic substrates. âºÂ Mutation within the TCA cycle lead to epilepsy in humans. ⺠Anaplerosis is the replenishment of TCA cycle intermediates. ⺠Anaplerosis is a promising strategy to prevent seizures and associated cell death.
