Abstract
► The site of action of the anti-Parkinson drug amantadine is still unclear. ► We examined it at human variants of suggested proteins in intact cells. ► Amantadine acted as “amphetamine-like releaser” at the noradrenaline transporter. ► Amantadine was more potent at the noradrenaline transporter than at the NMDA receptor.
