Abstract
⺠The site of action of the anti-Parkinson drug amantadine is still unclear. ⺠We examined it at human variants of suggested proteins in intact cells. ⺠Amantadine acted as “amphetamine-like releaser” at the noradrenaline transporter. ⺠Amantadine was more potent at the noradrenaline transporter than at the NMDA receptor.
