Abstract
⺠Glutamatergic receptors in the prefrontal neurons in MK-801 model were investigated. ⺠MK-801 induced distinct changes in AMPA and NMDAR receptors in FS interneurons. ⺠New presynaptic NMDARs were inserted in terminals targeting pyramidal neurons. ⺠These data provide a mechanistic explanation for the NMDA hypofunction hypothesis.
