Abstract
⺠Modafinil has pro-mnemonic effects and improves problem solving in schizophrenia. ⺠The neural mechanisms of action of modafinil involve key brain regions involved in cognition. ⺠Modafinil's cognitive enhancing functions are conducted via monoamines, glutamate, GABA, histamine and orexin.
