Abstract
⺠The 3β-HSD inhibitor trilostane increased plasma PROG and brain PREG. ⺠In the FST, trilostane facilitated DHEAS activity and SSRI effects at high doses. ⺠Trilostane moderately increased brain monoamine turnover. ⺠Trilostane's antidepressant potential is due to subtle changes in steroid levels. ⺠Trilostane may be useful as co-treatment with SSRI.
