Abstract
⺠Depletion of N.Acc. cholinergic neurons impaired performance in a delayed alternation task. ⺠These lesions markedly reduced stress-induced in vivo prefrontal cortical DA activation. ⺠In lesioned rats, cognitive impairments correlated significantly with cortical DA deficits. ⺠N.Acc. cholinergic depletion affects mesocorticolimbic function.
