Abstract
⺠Noradrenergic antidepressants selectively increase DA function in PFC but not in NAc. ⺠The combination of reboxetine and mirtazapine selectively increases DA and NE in mPFC. ⺠This evokes antidepressant-like effects (FST) and increases c-fos and BDNF in HPC. ⺠Citalopram pre-treatment does not interfere with the effects of these drugs. ⺠Potentially useful in SSRI-resistant depression and negative symptoms in schizophrenia.
