Abstract
⺠Abstinence from smoking is known to substantially reduce the burden of tobacco-related diseases. ⺠Smoking cessation works and it is cost-effective, but more successful and safer smoking cessation approaches are needed. ⺠Pharmaceutical companies and research institutions are currently investigating novel therapies for smoking cessation.
