Abstract
⺠The use of bacterial lysates to reduce AECOPDs is an intriguing concept. ⺠They are powerful inducers of a specific immune response against bacteria. ⺠Their mechanism of action is still not fully understood. ⺠Bacterial lysates lower bacterial carriage levels in the respiratory tract. ⺠They are a potentially effective approach in preventing AECOPDs.
