Abstract
► Chemokine-cytokine network causes neuroinflammation that lead to neuropathic pain. ► Neuroinflammation after injury consists of peripheral and central sensitizations. ► Leukocytes interact with primary neurons and elicit peripheral sensitization. ► Spinal glial cells sensitize secondary neurons and elicit central sensitization. ► The roles of principal chemokines and cytokines in neuropathic pain were shown.
