⺠GPR39 is an orphan receptor with a widespread distribution. ⺠GPR39 inhibits gastrointestinal motility and gastric secretion. ⺠GPR39 may be involved in the control of body weight. ⺠GPR39 stimulates insulin release. ⺠GPR39 has a protective function.
