Abstract
⺠Oxysterols/oxysterol receptors (LXRα and LXRβ isoforms) modulate several immune cells. ⺠Oxysterols/oxysterol receptors control some immune-based diseases and tumors. ⺠LXRs act by activating target genes or trans-repressing pro-inflammatory genes. ⺠Oxysterols can activate some cellular functions in an LXR-independent manner. ⺠Manipulating LXR-dependent/independent effects for autoimmune diseases and tumors.
